My pitch consisted of an explanation of the video that was helped by a story board and primary research, an analysis of everything I would need to film it and a survey about things that would help me narrow down a few niche audiences rather than one big mass audience.
I feel like I came across as confident and people understood what I was trying to explain and what my advert would all be about. I believe the way that I used body language made me and my pitch easier to understand. I constantly looked at everyone as individuals to make them feel like we were engaging in conversation so that they paid more attention and were more involved when i asked if they had any questions or comments.
I should’ve been more relaxed and calm rather than being worried because i may have seemed like I was talking at them rather than to them. Even though there was no script I felt as if it was a bit scripted.
I feel like my pitch was missing a fun element to it that could’ve made people enjoy it more and wanted to pay more attention. Maybe if i used more humor then people would have wanted to listen more and paid more attention (not to say that they did not pay attention).
I was told that i could’ve been more relaxed and that some people did not completely understand it but after I explained it further this was not an issue. I was also told that I could have put more research into it or maybe make a schedule to film.
I need to complete all pre production, choose who is going to be in it (as actors), choose background music, complete safety reports for the dangers when i’m filming and make sure I can film with no issues.
I think overall it was a good experience, I enjoyed myself and it built up my confidence and I think I’ve learnt a lot about how to act and what to put on the presentation. I believe it was a good pitch.
